Latest Updates from Our Project:

Barely Still Monday Update
over 3 years ago – Mon, Jan 11, 2021 at 10:14:17 PM

Hey Everyone!

We are working on the Backer survey so that you can select your mats. It does not look like it'll be (what's left of) today - but it will be very, very soon.

It is critical that once the survey goes out, everyone answer as soon as possible.

Unlike projects offering a single  product, we are manufacturing the specific playmats needed to satisfy Backer selections. What this means is, any slow or absent responses slow the whole process down (because we are obligated to attempt to obtain the needed information on an individual basis).

We know you all are as eager to make your selections as we are to deliver them, so hopefully it's no issue at all and we can proceed at maximum speed once the funds are released by Kickstarter.

We're almost ready to go, and we're sure you are too. We will keep you up to date as production proceeds; and get those gorgeously terrifying mats in your hands as soon as possible.

Thank you again,

Mike & Tom of Red Duke Games

A Monday Update - On Monday!
over 3 years ago – Tue, Dec 29, 2020 at 08:26:19 AM

18 hours to go, all mats unlocked!

We are set to get to production, and will keep you up to date. Thank you all. Thanks for backing, thanks for your requests (we're thrilled to have been able to accommodate many of them), and thank you for your involvement and interest. Looking forward to getting these in your hands as soon as possible.

Best wishes for a happy New Year,

Mike & Tom

T'was the Night Before Christmas (and there's good news about shipping!)
over 3 years ago – Mon, Dec 28, 2020 at 10:53:50 AM

What, you were expecting a jolly elf??

...and all through the project

The playmats all awaited

Being checked and rechecked...

OK, enough of that! (Trust me, I could do the whole thing...but that is a project for another time...)

Everything's in order at this time, and we're looking at a strong finish!

We've got domestic (U.S.) shipping on the 20 playmat pledge figured out, finally! Sorry to leave it "TBD" so long, but we wanted to be sure - rather than surprise you unpleasantly! The GREAT NEWS is: it's only a couple bucks more than the ten mat pledge! 20 mats, $24!

Want more craziness? The "All In" pledge, in the U.S., is going to cost around $50. That's 51 mats - shipping at less than a dollar a mat!! How? Well, we'll have to ship them to you in two packages - but that is well worth the savings, right? One box was a scary number...we're not doing that to you.

For those who have asked/are interested, local pickup or delivery (Philadelphia-and Central PA areas) is possible - just let us know in the Backer Survey when it goes out and you select your mats. Meeting somewhere in between for folks further away (but not crazy far) is also something we'd be willing to do to help out a store or a large order. No, it won't be  off the back of a truck under a bridge at midnight*

We've had a couple of requests for custom mats (store logos, gaming groups, and such like). It's possible - but you have to own the artwork, and get it to us at a usable resolution ASAP. You also have to be OK with other people possibly selecting and receiving it. But, yes - we can do it without delaying fulfillment. Given the time of year, it's workable.

That's it! Glad to be the bearers of glad tidings! Merry/Happy/All That Good Stuff - Humbug if ya gotta, we still love you.

Mike & Tom

*OK, if it's really big order - it might be off the back of a truck, or Jeep. Midnight and/or bridge optional and by request only.

Your Monday Update, TODAY!
over 3 years ago – Wed, Dec 16, 2020 at 04:23:59 PM

Hellooooo Backers! What Happened to Monday? It was here a little while ago! Our non-euclidean calendar got in a little tiff with the non-dimensional mail cubby, and well - you know how it goes...

So, the big news is - FUNDED! Thank YOU, so very much. This awesome project is happening!

Stretch Goals?

Philosophically, we tend to like to plough stretch goals back into the quality of the project. These mats can't get any better and still do what they are designed to do best, so that's out not really an option. Extra "stuff" is...a great way to delay fulfillment. Yay, my mats were ready weeks ago...and the extra 'Eldritch Screen Cleaning Cloth' is holding things up until the next solstice...  Extra product, in this case, ends up pumping up shipping costs (which we are very sensitive about on your behalf). So...those options don't make much sense (if you disagree - please let us know in the comments!). What we can do, as we exceed funding targets, is give back. The best way to do that is to see if we can subsidize some of the shipping and handling. Currently, at least domestically (U.S.) it is looking very much like we will be able to achieve a roughly 10% reduction in shipping and handling charges this way - and we're very happy to do that.

We are not changing the charts yet, but we're hoping to be able to pleasantly surprise many of you come fulfillment time. We will keep you updated.

Oh, By the Powers of the Outer Darkness - GET TO THE NEW MAT ALREADY!

Ok, ok!

As mentioned in the previous updates, we are unlocking another new playmat every week. Here we have the next unholy offering: the Combo Mat from Tentacles and Teeth - #12.

T&T Combo #2

The Remaining unlocked Banner #8 - The Tentacles and Teeth Combo #1 is getting really close to being unlocked. Just need a few more backers.

Unlocks at 75 Backers!

As we always ask, please - let your gamer friends know about this (funded!) project.  Go forth and proclaim the news upon the Book of Faces, The It of Red, The Twittering Madness, The Gram of Instants, The Pin of Trest, and any other amplificators of your dulcet voices...! The more, the merrier - and that includes you

Look for another update on Monday (should be Monday, Mondish?). Many thanks to all of YOU!!

Sincerely,

Tom "The Disembodied Voice" Roache & Mike "The Five O'Clock Shadow Out of Time" Slater

Monday Reveal!
over 3 years ago – Tue, Dec 08, 2020 at 01:03:19 PM

Tom here, your Disembodied Voice from Red Duke Games!

OK, so it's Monday and we like to show a new mat on Mondays. We'll try to keep it down to one update a week, but when cool stuff happens...we get excitable.

Speaking of cool stuff - check out these two just-added Palladium mats!

For fans of The Coalition faction in the Rifts RPG, this weeks 1st mat reveal is "The Coalition Scene" by Kevin Long

COALITION SCENE by Kevin Long

This week's 2nd mat reveal is "PSYSCAPE PORTRAIT" by John Zeleznik another vertical orientation playmat.

PSYSCAPE PORTRAIT by John Zeleznik

All the mats added in the updates are available at all pledge levels. If you see something you like that showed up after you pledged, it is more cost-effective to change your pledge than it is to add the new mat as an add-on item (just FYI).

These mats are also included in the All-In pledge. So if you want a great selection of mats for your store (or...you need to soundproof your game room with beautiful neoprene wallpaper?), the All-In is one heck of a deal - it gets better with every mat we add because the All-In price does not change!

Remember, you can Mix and Match your pledge. You want 5 mats of a Windscaller original, no problem. You want 15 of the Tentacles and Teeth's Cthuhlu, we will get you 15. We will be providing a Survey of all the mats once the KS ends so you can make your final selections and amounts. Mix and Match all you want!

At this point, I'm not sure how many mats we'll end up with. We are still getting requests for more, and doing everything we can to add them. We have had several requests for vertically oriented mats, and we are happy to do those, too. If you have requests for a unique cover or artwork from Palladium Books or Exocrate Games - let us know.  We'll see if we can make it happen.

Sincerely,

Tom "The Disembodied Voice" Roache  &

Mike "The Five O'Clock Shadow Out of Time" Slater
